Halloween

Lit by the candle inside, the light from a window, crank up the ISO and bingo.

Bedgebury Pinetum

Had a trip down to Bedgebury Pinetum. An amazing place which has the largest collection of pine trees in the world. Sadly the weather did not oblige and the forecast sun was nowhere to be found. So more close ups were the order of the day

Art Group

I have never been much of a joiner of groups, but my friend Mike persuaded me to come along with him to an art group that he was a member of, tonight.  In the end it was a interesting evening. About 40 artists in the group working in many different media. Did not have a chance to talk to many people but as it is a regular meet that will change.

St Mary's Church Higham, and Higham Gravel pits

Had a short trip out on to Higham marshes. Visited St Mary's church and then walked out to the old crane at the old gravel pits.

Friday Brief Encounter

With the nights drawn in so there is no light to shoot with after work, the only time is before work. So for a few moments this morning I had some time with the camera.

More Paid Work.

I have gone for weeks and weeks without any new paid work then suddenly two jobs in one week.

Tonight was a 'proof of concept' shot. Client has product that he wants to photograph, has an idea of what he might like but is not sure, so an image is made, discussed with the client and with any luck the idea is signed off so the rest of the shoot can progress.

The subject is small but it takes all the space I have to light it.

Kew Red/Orange

These are a few of the images with a red  and orange palette.

Kew Palm House

The palm house at Kew is very hot and humid. Cameras are cold metal. Put the two together you get condensation.
Trying to repeatedly clean the lens is futile, the only way to stop condensation is to let the camera warm up to the temperature of the room. This can take a long time if the camera is very cold.
Or you can let the fog work for you.

Kew Gardens

After my job was finished today, I had some time to wander around Kew Gardens.

Kew Gallery

Had a shoot today at a refurbished gallery at Kew Gardens. A bit of a nightmare as the wall was all glass picture frames.

Not what you want first thing on a Monday morning.

Leaf Spiral

Today's image is from a few days ago. I knew I would be tight for time this weekend, so I kept this back to fill a space.

Sunset Margaretting

A nice sunset but full moon stayed behind the clouds.
