Not the best day I've had for awhile, very hard to get going and no motivation.
After a morning not doing much I took a walk out to the local Nature reserve at Shorne Woods.
It was very busy with lots of children, as this will be about the last weekend of the summer holidays. Autumn term starting soon. That said a short walk out the back of the bark and you are away from the crowds. On the slopes there are a few old skeletons of trees. Some damaged in the great storm of 1987, some damaged by a big fire a few years later.
They stand like ghosts, their bare arms spreading across the sky, their trunks, stripped of bark showing all the lines a whorls normally hidden in a living tree.

Shells
With the new 'little camera', I have started to see how it gets on with images I would normally take on the 'big' camera.

Darnley Mausoleum
The light on Tuesday night did not look as promising as it did on Monday, with a bank of clouds low on the horizon.
So rather setting out to photograph the sunset I took a trip to Cobham first then on to do the walk to the Darnley Mausoleum, and get the setting sun sticking the building. It is about a mile walk in, and as I had not visited at that time of day, I had no idea how the light was going to hit the building.
When I arrived I reckoned I was about 20 min late as the lower part of the building was in a shadow cast by the trees.
Anyway I still got a couple of nice images.

Sissinghurst
Sissinghurst garden in Kent, were one of my late wife's favourite places to visit. We spent many hours walking in the gardens and around the estate.
The visit yesterday was the first since her death, and was made so much easier by the good friends who took me down. We were even able to have a cream tea.
