Letting go of Old Friends.

I am sure I have said this before but the time has now come to start saying good-bye to some old friends.

We have been together for almost a quarter of a century. Been through all sorts of scrapes together. Shared some bad times and some amazing times, seen things that many people will never have the chance to see. Both of us have come out the other side looking slightly older and with more character, also we are both functioning almost as well as we did 'back in the day'

click on 'Read More'  to meet my old friend.

Here is my old faithful Hasselblad 500cm Build in 1979, the year I graduated.

We first met in the window of York Cameras, near Waterloo Station while I was working for the GLC. We kicked around together a bit for a few years, but in 1988 we really started to get to know each other. Up until 2002 we were never far apart. but since then our relationship has been rather stand offish!

Now the time has come for the final parting. In the next few weeks, hopefully, the 500cm will pass to a new owner who will again use and cherish it the way such a magnificent piece of engineering should be.

The parting will be sad but all good things must come to an end.

Sunset Margaretting

A nice sunset but full moon stayed behind the clouds.
