Part one

Today was the day that I had set aside as a 'me' day, with the only aim was to do some photography. The weather forecast was good and with snow on the hills the only sensible choice was to go north. But before I did that I had a run out to the Knapps before breakfast. At this time of the year it takes some time for the sun to come up over the hills and hit the water. The wind was blowing strongly from the from the north and it was bitter standing waiting for the light.
When the light came up I managed to find some nice images which set the day up well for my trip up north.

End of a Road

I had a day out exploring today. Over the years I have been to most places in the area around Loch Lomond except for Inversnaid, and as this was at the end of a 16mile dead end I had yo tick it off my list.

It is nothing special just a pier and a hotel. nearby I found a car park and a walk to 'Rob Roy's View'. the walk was through forests and so not much to see. But the view at the end was special. One of the best panoramas of Loch Lomond I have found. Sadly the weather was not good, so HDR was used.

After I was going to drive the dukes pass but it was closed, so I came back via Lake of Montieth.

Ice on ponds

Another view of the fishponds gave me the trees on the hill on the other side reflecting on the ice covered pond.

Ice on the Fishponds

My trip out on Sunday had taken me down to the fishponds at Ightam. Thos time there was still a little bit of ice on the water and still some leaves around. Luckily the ice had not been broken, so I was able to get some interesting images.

Ice on the fishponds

Had a run down to the fishponds today to do some images with ice. While I was there I found some tyre tracks with ice covered puddles. These gave some interesting images with air trapped beneath the ice.

January roundup

Well this month has been a very odd month. Very much a time of standing still. As you can see I have done very little photography over the past weeks, until that is, the past few days where a trip down to the area around Ashdown Forrest  provided some interesting opportunities for images.

This will the first part of the collection.

Happy New Year

The first image from the New Year and the first after a short break from posting.

The Blog has now had over 120 post and nearly 1000 visitors since September. When I restarted the blog it was not my intention to do a 'picture/post a day' type blog. I had done that on Pbase a few years ago and it became a chore and not a pleasure. I got some good images but others were just space fillers.

So for this year the blog will still be running, hopefully with as many images as in the past, but it will not be a picture/post everyday.

That is the intention anyway. Keep visiting and see how things develop!

HAPPY NEW YEAR  to everyone.

Ian

A nice sunset but full moon stayed behind the clouds.
