Sunset

My attempt at a more regular post has failed so far.

My excuse is that I have a new laptop and have spent a good amount of my spare time getting it configured as I want it.

That is now done so apart from a couple of new cables and a test of the email out on location it is ready to roll.

The picture today is from my studio window looking west towards the sunset.

Chilli on a Plate

For some strange reason, very possibly connected with my daughter, we have had three chilli peppers drying on a radiator in our kitchen. I knew that there was an image there, so here it is,

Location Shooting

Today was a location shoot for one of my old clients. Lots and lots of mirrors for the annual update to his promotional material.
Mirrors are always a challenge to photograph as both the product and the reflection need to be lit. As usual I arrived with my car full of all the equipment I had, most of which got used!

The picture is of the set for the last of the products that I photographed.

Joss Stick Smoke

I did some images with smoke from a Joss Stick some time ago. Today as the sun had gone by the time I finished work I revisited the idea, this time with some colour added to the lights.

Turkey Oak Leaves

I had some leaves from a Turkey Oak waiting to be photographed. I loved the very deep 'fingers' in these leaves.

More Paid Work.

I have gone for weeks and weeks without any new paid work then suddenly two jobs in one week.

Tonight was a 'proof of concept' shot. Client has product that he wants to photograph, has an idea of what he might like but is not sure, so an image is made, discussed with the client and with any luck the idea is signed off so the rest of the shoot can progress.

The subject is small but it takes all the space I have to light it.

More of the Holly leaf.

I had some time to do further shots of the skeleton holly leaf this morning. It was a bit of an exercise in light and lens choice.

Tidy Up

Every year or so I like to give my desk a good clean up. With all the computer kit I have running, the desk becomes a dust magnet. It is not an easy job as I can only just lift the monitors. This time I have rerun all the cables so I can switch of all non essential bits of kit each night, so all that will stay on are the phones, broadband and the radio network.

The desk is now very much tidier than it was, honest!

After I have finished the desk I will have to tidy the rest f the studio!

Sunset Margaretting

A nice sunset but full moon stayed behind the clouds.
