Archives

I have in my collection many thousand slides. many going back nearly 60 years. Scanning them on a film scanner is slow and mostly overkill.

So I have resurrected my old computer, with a monitor from an old PC. Although not used in 10 years, it fired up fine and although slow it is not a problem as the bottleneck is how fast I can change slides.

Just found a box with almost 1000 slides inside. It will take a few days to copy and any that are worth scanning at higher resolution can be put through my film scanner.

Well its a month since the last post and lots of things have gone on but not much photographically.

Big thing is I have a new phone. So took some pictures on the phone and with the Nikon and here are the results.

iPhone tweaked on phone

Really very impressed. Quality is far better than a pro digital from the turn of the century. and the phone only cost £200 more than my first 160mb CF card!!!!

Sunset Margaretting

A nice sunset but full moon stayed behind the clouds.
