Cheddar and Glastonbury moon.

Very hot day again with an early start on a walk along the rim of Cheddar Gorge followed by an attempt to get the moon over Glastonbury Tor

Full Moon

Well the cloud sheet that rolled in yesterday was still around today, and as it is a full moon tonight, that was slightly disappointing. But about 2pm the clouds cleared out and the possibility of a clear sky at 3.55pm, which was when the moon appeared over the horizon, looked more promising.

Well things went well, the sky was clear at 4pm but by 4.30pm another cloud sheet had rolled in and the moon was gone. But in that half hour I got a couple of nice shots.

Day 6 (I think) and the relaxing gets deeper.

After all the excitement of yesterday. (Not! but that is why we are on Symi) Today was a beach day and time on the sun loungers.

But first it was another fantastic sunrise.

What really surprised me was how fast the sun is moving around the horizon from day to day.

I knew that at this time of year, around the equinoxes, the length of day and the position of the sun is moving at its fastest rate, but rarely having the good fortune to have the time to watch the sun come up on several days from the same location, the speed of change was very noticeable.

Anyway I think I did go back to bed for some more sleep before the walk down to Pedi.

The beach of choice for the day was Agia Marina.

Now I am aware that people generally either love or hate Agia Marina. Mostly because it is the most developed beach on Symi.

I have a slight dislike of the beach but that is purely personal between me and the beach, or rather the Gecko that lives on the beach that caused me to put my back out, when I tried to bend down to take a picture of it last year!

V loves the beach as it reminds her of the Lido of her youth, all white paint and concrete and a slight whiff of luxury and the exotic.

I must admit that 'luxury' and 'exotic' are not always associated with Prestatyn but there you are.

It did give some nice pictures.

So after a day on the longer it was boat back to Pedi and a chance for a couple more pictures before heading of for a night on the town.

Moon over Rochester

It is a full moon tomorrow, which makes today a better day to get images. Yesterday would have been better still but as I was on a late and the weather was not good, tonight it was.

I got home quickly grabbed my camera and got down to Rochester. By the time the moon was high enough for images the light levels had dropped a bit, this would be why yesterday would have been better. The moon would have been slightly less full but would have been higher in the sky earlier, making for better light balance between the moon and the buildings.

As it was I got some nice images.

Traveling to Scotland

I have driven to Scotland over the day today. The weather was foggy then clear then foggy again.

I find long distant trips a bit frustrating as far as photography goes. On the motorway there is no chance to stop or go back. So any possible photographs are lost never to be taken. In the early part of todays trip I saw some wonderful trees in the fog.

Sunset Margaretting

A nice sunset but full moon stayed behind the clouds.
