Storm Brendan

It has been very stormy over the past few days. Very wet so not conducive to going out to take pictures. so these images are from before and after the storm.

Sea Defense

Going back to a series of pictures I did a few years ago of sea defences in Kent. I found a great bit of breakwater at Grain on a trip today.
Just love the way the shapes work.

Had a long walk along the sea wall at Grain. Got my 10,000 steps in.

Sunderland

I'm always interested in roads that aren't always roads.

Looking at maps I came across the village of Sunderland. Situated on the edge of Morcambe Bay where the river Lune meets the sea. The road to the village is 1.25 miles across salt flats. You have to be careful of the tides as the road is flooded at high tide.

Luckily the tide was out so I was able to drive and have a quick look around.

Day 13: and repeat day 12!

We enjoyed the day at St Nicks so much yesterday we decided to do exactly the same again today, and why not, the holiday is almost over.

So it was a walk to Pedi and then along the new path to St Nicks.

Yesterday we missed the road signs on the new path.

But we were soon at the beach.

So the routine was sun, sea, food, sun, sea, return home.

All very relaxing.

Llangrannog

I guess anyone who has a collection of old family photographs has some photographs that they can't associate with any of their relatives.

In my case I have a collection of prints of pictures taken all over Great Britain. Some I can recognise but most are of unknown locations. 

A very few of the pictures have a location written on the back but most don't. 

The composition of the pictures are all of good quality, far more than casual snaps. Very few have people in them. Infact more have horse and carts than people.

The main set of images that are annotated are from the small port of Llangrannog, located on the Welsh coast of Cardigan Bay near Newport.

It is hard to date these images. I would have a guess that they date from the turn off the 19/20th Century.
